2 headed Coronella

Postby Mario Schweiger » Thu Jan 20, 2011 12:06 pm

While searching for other pics, I´ve found some old ones.
Maybe interesting.
Coronella austriaca, found near the town of Salzburg, Austria in the middle of September 2002.
(Therefore bad quality - 3 MP camera only)

Mario, did you keep the snake(s)? Did he/they made it?

Ilias,
when it was brought to the museum/reptile zoo in Salzburg, we tried to feed it with baby/small Hemidactylus frenatus and Gecko gecko, running free and breeding everywhere in the museum.
But didn´t work. Also with baby Lacerta agilis and Anguis.
So we tried to force feed with tails of Lacerta and mice, but the snake regorged them the next day or the day after.
It died after approx. 2 month, sorry - and is now in the museum collection.
