Spring in the Southwest (Germany)

Postby Andre Schmid » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:25 am

If everybody starts his own hometown Thread, I will too

So I´ve made my first trip to the adders saturday one week ago. Weather was fine, sun was shining the hole day, temperatures about 6-7°C but I´ve found lots of snow in this habitat, here some pictures ...

(5.3.11)

After a few hours of search I found in this terrain my first black adder of 2011

The adder lay in the sunny side

The ground temperature where the adder lays has about 24°C

As the wind goes stronger, the adder lay in the bushes...

This day I also found one Zootoca vivipara, but can´t photograph her...

3 days later (8.3.11) I go again in this habitat to look at the adder and take a look if I find some new males, laying in the spring sun...

But this guy was the only adder I found this day. Beside this adder I saw some Lizards, but can´t photographed...

So Saturday last week (12.3.11) It should be the nicest day this spring till now, so I go again in the habitat.....

Weather was nice and sun shines heavy, temperatures about 12°C

As I arrived at 11 am. the black adder doesn´t lay at his place I found him the days ago, so I search in the terrain for some new adders...but found only some Zootoca viviparas..

As I remove to adders place, he don´t lay there for the hole day and weather turns bad and cold...

So, no adder at the nicest day till now in 2011....but looking forward, the season has start :D

like ever..sorry about my worst english

As far as there's no guestbook available on your site I've to post my "i like" to your "die erste Kreuzotter 2011" here ;-) Really nice set of pictures!
