I read this great thread all over again, and since i did not find any chelonian pictures, i`ll just post our first Pond Terrapin of the year, found basking today in Bucharest along with some Trachemys. Sorry about the poor phone pictures.

I visited my local spot for arborea 5 times now and still no actvity! Either I have lost my sight completely or they are just not active yet...

Well, I met with Peter last night and they were calling by the hundreds. Saw a few Pelobates males, but none could be netted. Also pool frog, crested, alpine, smooth, common toad, common frog.

The night before, 4 newt species + 20 fire salamanders in my own town. Having trouble with my card reader, so no pics just yet...

Well, this weekend another try then! I can't imagine that they're still not active yet with all the activity in other parts of the country and Belgium as well.

Anyhow, last night went for a bicycle ride in an extremely foggy polder (behind my house) and enjoyed the chorus of hundreds of natterjacks! Amazing, it was cold so they were very shy, they stopped calling when I came too near so no calling males photographed yet. Today a visit with two friends to Utrecht city and the Veluwe and found some nice species: sandlizards, slow worm, wall lizards, adder, grass snakes, edible frogs, marsh frogs, common frogs, common newts and alpine newts.
