Well, this weekend another try then! I can't imagine that they're still not active yet with all the activity in other parts of the country and Belgium as well.
Anyhow, last night went for a bicycle ride in an extremely foggy polder (behind my house) and enjoyed the chorus of hundreds of natterjacks! Amazing, it was cold so they were very shy, they stopped calling when I came too near so no calling males photographed yet. Today a visit with two friends to Utrecht city and the Veluwe and found some nice species: sandlizards, slow worm, wall lizards, adder, grass snakes, edible frogs, marsh frogs, common frogs, common newts and alpine newts.
