Herping in Switzerland 2013

Postby Bastien Comment » Mon May 13, 2013 8:02 pm

Hi everyone!

First of all, thanks and congrats for all your previous posts and pictures (special tribute to the Oman and Montenegro reports ;) ), it helped me supporting the frustration of a pretty bad start of the year. Indeed, I've had to wait until the 25th of April to see my first snake! What a pain, especially when you live close to Stéphane Aubry and see his pictures on his website  More seriously, I've cumulated bad luck by working a lot in March and missing all the correct days (any day off was rainy and cold). And in April, on the best week I was in Shanghai in China (not that I complain though, it was absolutely fabulous) where I finally had no opportunity to go in the wild. So here's a selection of my herping trips in Switzerland in the past days. Enjoy!

Thanks for your feedbacks!

Guillaume: Yes indeed, that was quite a nice shot ;)

Jürgen: What is actually your question with the Lacerta viridis? Sorry but I didn't get it... :?:

For sure it is !
To my knowledge, Lacerta viridis is not present in Switzerland.

Take a look here, it's a good website:

Ok, well the spot where I took this picture is known for having a population of introduced "lézards verts" and I just realized that I mixed up the two species (viridis and bilineata) because of the french translation but you're right, sorry for the mistake, I correct it ;)

I didn't take much time to post my sessions this year so here's already a first round of the 2nd part of my season.
