What a crazy and ill-demand!
Not only that this is a criminal offense in Germany - there is no apparent reason for such a brute action!
Do you want to exterminate all the species that are not native here? Then start with those that make actual damage.
Or - what about Procyon lotor, Felis silvestris, Dama dama ... to name just a few.
What about the numerous Podarcis muralis populations outside of their range.
Almost every day in my break I go to the river Rhine - there I see Branta canadensis, alopochen aegyptiacus and Psittacula krameri - not to mention the non-native plants.
Do you want a war against all foreign - just because it is conceivable that it could arise a problem?
And ... then, what about the native species such as Sus scrofa, which can only live in many areas because we human made nature changes so that they can find enough food? .... and so on!
For clear - there is no legitimation to set non native species free. But if we find a stable, population which seems to make no problems, we have to observe them carefully but not to kill them in anticipatory obedience!

Maybe, just maybe, I was joking. Other than that, I'll repeat that a lot of invasive species started out as "not seeming to cause problems" & nobody's a bigger Speleomantes lover than me.

BTW, a European ordonance (which has more practical power than a directive) was put up for voting yesterday.
http://ec.europa.eu/environment/nature/ ... dex_en.htm
This will demand that Member States take measures to prevent invasive alien species (IAS) from entering countries where they haven't arrived yet, to eradicate IAS which still occur in manageable numbers and to manage and contain IAS which have already done the damage. The involved IAS will be listed in an appendix of 50-100 species. Of course, Speleomantes italicus will not be on that list, but (imho fortunately) some of the other species you mentioned will be.

Here's a more practical description.

So they agree to what I wrote. We have real problems with alian spezies.
Speleomantes isn`t one comparing to this.

And so do I, as is obvious from our previous discussions.

I was wondering if someone had news about this? Did we finally had a real identification of the species?
