Wow  Too bad I cannot read the article, I would be curious to know if they only found an isolated specimen or few of them in this area. Beautiful lizard anyway.

Same for me ;)
I've tried it with Google.
"Only one male specimen with regenerted tail in the Včelíny v Súčanskej valley in Slovakia (north-east of Bratislava, close to the Czech border). Zwach (1990) wrote, all complete blue Anguis should be deposited in the Praha National Museum". So, there must have been more in history ;)

Thanks, Mario. And the other way around (blue ventral scales):

Michael, you can also sell the concept to Benetton, "the united colors of Anguis" :) BTW, it seems that this Anguis colchica has been established as a separate species last year by GVOŽDIK et al.

Ako udáva I. Zwach (1990), celkom modrý exemplár slepúcha by mal byt uložený
v Národnom múzeu v Prahe. Lokalitu tohoto nálezu neuvádza.

As indicated by I. Zwach (1990), a completely blue Slow worm specimen should
be preserved in the National Museum in Prague. He does not give the locality of
that find.

Filípek, M. (2005): Neobvykle sfarbený slepúch lámavý. ŽIVA. 1: 36.
[Unusually coloured Slow Worm - in Slovak].

I'm afraid that "should be" here means "allegedly", and I. Zwach (1990) is a handbook,
Ivan Zwach: Naši obojživelníci a plazi, SZN Praha, 1990 (in Czech),
most probably out of print...
