Hello everyone,
As I already mentioned we moved to London..and yesterday(11.11.2009),after some rainy days we took a walk on the Horsenden Hill,very close to Perivale Nature Reserve.As I've read,the are is famous for it's numerous bluebells and fungi! Well,no bluebells in that time of year,but the fungi were a lot,indeed!
But the most exciting thing we found on that meadow...
...under one of these trees!
A bit closer! And there it is!
A subadult female Triturus cristatus! I know maybe I should've not disturb it..but I just couldn't resist taking some photos!
It might have not been hibernating yet,because the weather was mild and the newt was moving quite fast (as fast as a newt can move,of course
)
After that we carefuly placed it back where we found it..under it's tree and left it in peace! I couldn't believe our luck! I'll surely remember our first UK herp!
