Summer holidays looking for vipers.

A bit late, but I don't think somebody cares..

My family holidays was a 'big' tour through europe, lots of important stuff like weddings, friends, salamanders and vipers.

...Visit Teja and find that damn 'Italian clade' Vipera berus in Slovenia.

What troubles you regarding that clade?

Well, but now you have found them (this time, in Slovenia) or not? According to your report, I'd say you have.
I've seen at least some forty of them in Croatia (Gorski Kotar), which is the same population as in SW Slovenia.
(Of course they don't respect state borders...)
Here's a juvenile (TBL 26 cm):

BTW, this might also serve as a proof that melanistic V. berus are at least sometimes born fully melanistic, and don't
have to grow up to become so...
