Zootoca vivipara & Lacerta agilis, all animals in situ



they use the same sun spots there, sometimes one lays on the other. It seems that the two species don't feel disturbed from each other

I noticed that they use same hideaways although they are different species. agilis left, vivipara to his right. I know, not easy to see when the pics are so small

I'm student in Bochum and there's a great botanic garden with a podarcis muralis population in the alpinum area, does anyone know their subspecies?

thanks, I know this paper. Unfortunately the population is registered but there is no notice about the subspecies in Bochum

Nice pictures - I like the agilis with the caterpillar!
The Podarcis looks like merremius (maybe brogniardii but it is doubtful if this is a seperate subspecies at all.) With a picture of an adult male, identification would be easier.

For me they look like typical merremius, but brogniardi or muralis also would be possible (although rather unlikely).

I asked Ulich Schulte about the subspecies, he told me it is merremius/brogniardii.
