This week, up to thursday, we had very warm weather with temperatures exceeding 35°C - and now, from friday and today heavy rains and temperatures below 18°C here in Salzburg.
Both weather conditions not the best for looking on herps.

So maybe a little guess now!

According to the vegetation I would say: Central Europe. I follow Dominik's guess.

Yes, its Central Europe.
Exactly its the Trattberg, east of the Salzach river valley, approx. 25 kms south of town Salzburg.
These mountains belong to the Northern Limestone Alps (Nördliche Kalkalpen, Tennengebirge).





I was there last wednesday, the hottest day of the year until now.
I was up at an altitude of 1´650 m at short after 7:30 in the morning. Walking around, I "climbed" up to nearly 1´900 m asl and stayed on the mountain until 6:30 p.m.
Unfortunately no snakes (Natrix or Vipera berus), only some Zootoca vivipara the whole day round.





The highest density in zootoca was seen between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. A lizard every 50 to 60 cm along stone walls between the mountain meadows.
