Berus and Atras trip Allgäu

To forget the winter for some minutes, here some pictures of a daytrip into the "Württembergisch" part of the Allgäu to find some Vipera berus and afterwards some Salamandra atra.

Love the atra - are those common in the area?

Yes, at the places they occur here, there are really a lot, sometimes I found more than one under a small piece of wood. In Baden-Württemberg this area in south-east is the only distribution area of Salamandra atra.

Interesting: I didn't know, atra occurs in Baden-Württemberg at all!
