Queens day = Neotenic Newt day@NL

30th of april, Queens day in The Netherlands, a good day to go to "de Veluwe", de veluwe is having a new member since 20 years or so, called Italian Crested Newt.

Since I haven't seen this species, I decited to go there and look for them.

Quickly get my camera and my small aquarium for photographing newts and fish......but.....When I got my stuff out of my backpack I already felt it, the newt-tank was almost broken.
After a few photos it really broke into 5 pieces, so most of the photos are .........,could have been a lot better.

Neotenic I. alpestris,(correct me if I am wrong) its size was just a bit longer then the females of I. alpestris there.(10-11 cm)

Too bad about the aquarium, but you saw a lifer and i think that`s a small price to pay. :D
