I know this is related to Central Europe, but the first Vipera Berus in Denmark, (that I know of), was spotted yesterday - Sat 06 march, 2010. That day we had 1-6° celsious, windspeed 7m/sec. The followning night we had as low as -15° celcious, even with snow in some parts of the country.

The picture was taken at approx. 5° celsious in the middle of the day - by Jakob Rademacher.

First few males of the year were out today in North England. Temperature about 6*C, slight cold wind. Nice day!

Oh, you lucky guys!

Here in Austria its winter again, lots of snow and realy cold.
And this weather will stay for at least the next 10 days, they say!

still 39 days to my trip to the south into the warm regions

You are right, "not worth.."!!!!!!!

I don`thave a chance to make a pic like this, in the moment we have heavy snowfall and expecting more snow on the weekend.
Spring??? Maybe not this year!!!!!!!!! :cry:

... & I'm still just kicking myself over not getting out Monday when conditions seemed ideal for the first adders of the year basking amidst patches of snow :evil:

The weather forecast had been somewhat bleak and the early morning sky didn't look promising so I holed up to get some work done that could easily have waited. By the time I got out and noticed how the weather had changed it was already too late because I had to go pick up the kids from school.

We haven't seen the sun since and by the looks of it won't see it again before the snow has melted :cry:
