Today a friend of mine shared with me a set of photos showing Eremias velox preying on a lizard from Phrynocephalus genus. Until today I was pretty sure that the diet of Eremias velox consists of only various invertebrates.

The author of this set of photos - Svetlana Ivanenko - kindly permitted me to share them on our forum!

Does anybody of you, guys, know something about other cases of saurofagia of Eremias velox? Is it an ordinary situation or it is a unique observation?

If anybody wants to contact Svetlana about her photos and this case, I shared a link to her FB page above
