Judging by numerous lizards, I guess that there were no feral cats?

There were a few cats roaming around the lanes but not out of control (Such as parts of Cyprus and Spain). Lots of dogs in a poor state of health unfortunately.

Any photos of the other mammals you saw?


Hi Carl, I didn't manage any photos of the nightime sightings. They were all made from our hire car as we cruised around the country roads. At best all we got was a quick glimpse as the Raccoon Dogs and Jackals dipped out of the headlights. I carried my camera in the car but never got the opportunity to use it. The night time drives were really interesting - especially dodging the huge potholes!
(Just checked and there are 88 mammal species in Bulgaria - it is a fascinating place.)
