Symi trip report 2012

Postby Matt Wilson » Sun Apr 22, 2012 2:28 pm

Here is a report from my trip to the small island of Symi, not too many species found there nor in great numbers but I do like the place a lot. Weather was cold, wet and windy for a lot of the time but still managed to find some nice animals: http://mwilsonherps.wordpress.com/trip-reports/symi/

Happy 2012 herping to everyone on the board!

Beautiful xanthinas !
I like those speckled modestus.
Good job on the new species!
Maybe nonsense, but would it be true that nummifer
is an autumn species?

Thanks! I'd say nummifer shows up more in the summer and autumn based on what we have seen, but to be honest not much was around in terms of snakes other than jugularis! In hot weather nummifer does seem to be the most often seen snake based on what my friends have told me who live there. Weird...
