Bulgaria (Pravetz)

Postby Ilian Velikov » Thu May 21, 2009 2:47 pm

First of all I have to say thanks to the creators of this site! I think it's gonna be a great forum! :)

I decided to start with some of the species inhabiting the area around my hometown - Pravetz. It's situated in the western Stara Planina Mts.( a.k.a. Balkan Mts.) on an alttitude of 440 - 500 m asl.
I'm living in Sofia now,but I often visit Pravetz to see my parents and the herps,of course  The photos I'm posting are not from a single trip but are result from my observations on a particular area around a small pond near the forest surrounding the town.

That's it for now! There other species which I haven't photographed, yet so there will be more from Pravetz!
Thak's for looking!

I like the first dalmatina shoot!!
Are Rana dalmantina more common in your area than Rana temporaria?

Thanks,Jurgen!

Something went wrong with the internet while I was posting this..and I didn't even see that it was posted! This are not the only pics I was going to upload..there are more! I'll post them when I get home!

In that area there are no R.temporaria at all..and lots of R.dalmatina!

Ilian and all others!

I see a lot of so called "orphaned" attachments (pictures) in my admin overlay. But I don´t know, to whom or which posting these belong.
Orphaned attachments are those, having been uploaded but not inserted into a posting, respectively this posting hasn´t been posted.
The images (for example) show:
birds (filename = bird_xx)
Lacerta and Podarcis (filename = number.img)
and some more.

If you all tell me, which photo (file name) belongs to which posting, I may insert those there!
