Dear Edvard
Nice idea and I appreciate what You and Your colleagues are doing.
Indeed their is need of updated distribution data for Amphibians and Reptiles in Albania and surrounding regions.
Haxhiu data are in several cases doubtful, moreover some of the locations aren´t existing anymore due to building activities and other reasons.

I myself have been in Albania since 2004 approx 15 times, collected distribution data and there are about 2000 GPS points until now from this region in my books.

So if You have interest in some work-together about this please contact my on my institution email peter.keymar@theresianum.ac.at

Greetings

Hi,

two more papers of your wish list are in the DB:

Haxhiu I 1998: Results of studies on the Chelonians of Albania – Chelonian Conservation and Biology 1 (4): 234-237 -- I think year and pagination is wrong!
Author: Haxhiu, I.
Year of publication: 1995
Title: Results of Studies on the Chelonians of Albania. Translation by Buskirk, J.R. of the original Albanian publ. in: Buletin i Skhencave te Natyres 2: 99 - 14 (1985)
Journal: Chelonian Conserv. a. Biology 1(4): 324 - 326
Abstract: In this article the results of studies on the turtles of Albania over the years 1976-1983 are presented. The article is an account of six species of turtles, one of which (T. marginata) is recorded for the first time for the herpetofauna of Albania. This work also presents bioecological data as well as the geographical distribution of the six Albanian species of chelonians.-- PDF-6768

Haxhiu I 1994: The herpetofauna of Albania, Amphibia: species composition, distribution, habitats
Author: Haxhiu, I.
Year of publication: 1994
Title: The Herpetofauna of Albania. Amphibia: Species Composition, Distribution, Habitats
Journal: Zool. Jahrb. Syst. 121: 321 - 334
Abstract: Extensive studies over many years revealed the spectrum of amphibian species in Albania and their distribution in this country. Despite the small size of Albania the number of species is large, comprising 15 species. Nine occur all over the country, while the others inhabit special regions. The causes for the occurrence in restricted areas are preferences for special habitats, diversity of landscape and climate. PDF-6825

Dear Forum Members,

We are in the finishline to submit our article about reptile distributions in Albania with updated maps for all species. We added a lot of observation records from forum members who sent us coordinates and Fieldherping.eu forum is also mentioned in the article.
The article about amphibians are still in the process and we are still looking for records. If you have records from Albania which you didn't sent us already and if you wish to help us please do it, and send us your observations! We will add it to the database and then to the article.
Although the reptile part is finished new reptile records are also welcomed!

Thank you,

Márton Szabolcs
