Even the Italians? In Italian scientific literature those terms are the established/accepted "technical terms",
termini technici. Not in other languages, however, so that might cause unnecessary misunderstandings.
That's really all I wanted to remind everyone of. Not "forbidden", but also not widely accepted/understood
elsewhere, and therefore, possibly misleading.

I used the rolling eyes to indicate irony.

Of course I've noticed (and understood) that, but the possibility of misunderstandings due to technical terms
like that still persists... So, why not repeat the warning, even ad nauseam (at least yours), if it might help
- the "newcomers", at least - and does no harm?

New pictures of this year.
"Familiar life" in Elaphe quatuorlineata. The baby was seen only after having taken the picture!

Same problem

This specimen had a very clear eye: not so dark/black as it's usual in 4lined snakes. Clear eye with very visible pupil: I took no side view pictures, but I could do, because this specimen was basking asleep!

Aberrant pattern of a Natrix natrix (picture not in situ). Not very healthy specimen.
