Here the link to a report my friend Maykel wrote about our trip to Northern Greece last year:

Note there a number of outdated scientific species names in there
+ the young Montpellier snake is a young Caspian whip
+ Bufo spinosus only occurs in SW Europe

Nice and green(!) report! Many familiar views...

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes. I corrected the species I.D.'s

Is there somewhere that I can find out about the recent scientific name changes?

It's of course not a scientific paper, but at least I'm trying to present a critical take on things here =>

I enjoyed this part of Greece so much that I decided to return a month later with my girlfriend. Although herping was lower on the priority list this time, I still could add Hardun (Stelagama stellio) and Dahl's whip snake (Platyceps najadum ) to the list. And I was surprised to find masses of Kotschy's geckos while one month before we only found 1.

On neither trip did I find Vipera ammodytes ; has anyone advice on how to find them? Do they avoid temperatures above 20 degrees?
