Some pics and a Trip Report from my first Croatia Trip 2013.

The whole trip was from 13/04/2013 till 08/05/2013.
The route of the trip:
1) National Park Plitvice lakes
2) National Park Krka waterfalls
3) Pakostane and Vransko Jezero (Lake Vrana)
4) National Park Paklenica
5) Island Pag
The first stop was National Park Plitvice lakes
On the higher lakes there was still a lot of snow and some paths were still flooded and closed.
Euscorpius sp. (I found the evening before visiting the national park)

Lacerta viridis (near the lakes and not far away from the last snow)
The second stop was the Krka area and the national park

Young Elaphe quatuorlineata (some kilometers outside the national park)
Hierophis gemonensis
The young Elaphe quatuorlineata, the Hierophis gemonensis and an Elaphe situla (which I could not get a pic of) I found all in an area of 25 sq.m., but at different times.
The third stop was Lake Vrana and Pakostane
Testudo hermanni boettgeri, I found 3 female and 1 mal near Pakostane on just a few sq.m.
Pseudopus apodus, I really found very often nearly all over all the places I visited

The fourth stop was National Park Paklenica
Zamenis longissimus, I found two times in the valley near the creek
Vipera ammodytes, I found in the higher regions of the national park

Podarcis melisellensis (former wrong written and discussed (see below): Podarcis sicula)
Algyroides nigropunctatus
Natrix natrix ssp. in the valley near the creek (Paklenica N.P.)
Salamandra salamandra in the middle of the path (Paklenica N.P., 7:00 a.m.)
Zerynthia polyxena (Southern festoon butterfly), near the Creek in Paklenica N.P.
Iphiclides podalirius (Scarce Swallowtail), near the Coast of Starigrad on Tamarisk trees

The last stop was on the Island Pag
Very old Olive trees on the norther peninsula Lun

For a Zamenis situla I searched the whole trip. I found one near Krka, which was too fast, and one DOR on the peninsula Lun on Pag and then one on Pag near Metajna, of which I got good pics.
