Found today in the evening 3 january 2017 a dead Platyceps in my garden. Location Greece, Messini, altitude ca 250 m. Do not know the cause of death, animal had no visible injuries and the death occured I suppose just previously I found it as it's external condition was very good and "fresh" (see picture) and I also would have noticed it previously that day. The last days were quite sunny with day temperatures around 13°C but dropping to 5/6 °C at night. Didn't know these snakes got active during the winter.
