Postby Jürgen Gebhart » Sun Apr 15, 2012 3:32 pm

Back from the first vacation of the year, one week South Tyrol.
Hell, what kind of weather was that???
Rain, Snow, overcast, strong wind, less sun, night frost, best weather for herping!
Hottest Day, 16 Degrees but now sun and rain from time to time!

A few shots:

Great photos, Jürgen! I love the salamanders (of course...), thanks for sharing the details of the weather conditions, too. Too bad that you didn´t find any snakes though.

Hi,
on Krk it was not that bad, we had one good day with about 15°C sometimes sunny, we visited about 3 spots on the island at this day and found (mating) Bufo viridis and P. ridibundus, Lissotriton vulgaris, Natrix natrix, 1 Vipera ammodytes, 1 Testudo hermanni, Hierophis gemonensis/ viridiflavus and many of the common Lizard species/ Pseudopus. But the other days were to cold and rainy.
At Lake Vrana it was sunny but much to cold so I found only one viridiflavus, some Emys and many trilineatas and Pseudopus while 2 days searching. There was no hermanni out at that time at places we found a lot some years before.
Then it got rainy again and me and my girlfriend decided to drive home ;) .
