Friday 28.03. Hot!! We went north west and looked for Testudo herrmani around the city of Stintino.
We found Algyroides fitzingeri, Chalcides chalcides, Podarcis siculus, Hierophis viridiflavus.

Under a big rock we found 2 Chalcides occelatus, one was striped.

We found Algyroides fitzingeri alway in the neighbourhood with Podarcis siculus siculus.

Jürgen Zerbe in action!
He told me he will wait till the tortoise came out, but I thought he will sleep!!!
15 Minutes later he was in the same position! Maybe his heavyweight body keep him down!

We drove to the Capo Falcone, where the sea has a nice color (Made a few pics, because everybody done it). Found some Podarcis tiliguerta.

We drove to another beach and I found a Testudo herrmani in the Sand dunes.

Saturday 29.03. Hot again! We drove north east and looked for Testudo marginata on the beach.

Maybe the soft underground is the reason for those claws.

We went to the Punto Falcone and found some Algyroides fitzingeri, Podarcis siculus, Podarcis tiliguerta.
The Algyroides fitzingeri and the Podarcis siculus life on the stonewalls, Podarcis tiliguerta on the big rock in the field.

Than we drove to the mountainrange and found some more Testuo marginata and Podarcis tiligerta.

Great report! Thanks a lot! One of your T.graeca looks very interesting..with the contrast black blotches on it's shell and head!

The in-situ shot of the flipped Chalcides occelatus made me very happy :mrgreen:
