December herps from Crete & Sardinia

Postby GertJan Verspui » Sat Dec 21, 2013 11:26 am

My best wishes for all!

In December I had the chance to visit 2 great islands in the south of Europe, Crete for work and Sardinia for myself.

GertJan, you have outdone yourself! The photos are amazing! Also, it is nice that you found Speleomantes in such high numbers - and there were really some stunning specimen amongst them. Great trip it must have been...
Cheers,
Laura

Gert Jan

A great report :D nice to see herps so late in the year. I love short, productive trips, efficient and leave more time, brownie points and cash for other venues... I hope to do a quick raid on Malta next season, three days, a few ticks and home for tea and medals :D

I too have been subjected to the Bok method of naked herping.. I kept my boots on for safety reasons :D

See you in the Spring

Cheers

Paul

Great trip mate! Would have loved to join... The Euleptes pictures are simply amazing and you've made some fabulous Speleomantes pictures!

Paul, I don't know of anything...

This winter I hate everybody who goes south while I'm enjoying Central European winter. Thanks, GertJan for spoiling my mood...

So why did Crete turn out to be a horrible place?

Niklas, thank you!

Laura, thank you too!

Paul, quick raids and medals are an impossible combination unless really interesting things happen, haha.See you then!

Bob, thanks mate, love those photos too!

Mario, Thank you!!

Peter, you are welcome!

Jeroen, likewise, haha, liked your trip too..

Kevin, Crete is nice, but the storm and the work I had to do with certain people had something to do with it ;)
