I don’t fear for that village: it’s so hard to get there, and aspis vipers are not exactly the same as leopard snakes as terrarium pets… You are welcomed anytime, if you want to visit that remote place!
I was there in five different occasions, if I remember well: in two of these occasions the village was a real “vipersgarden” (and all my pictures come from only those two days observations period). The other three times, always in spring, there was nothing to see there, except for some stones and my sweat.
If you like strange places inhabited by many specimens of only one single snake species, I have good pictures of a dam, in the northern Apennines (situated at lower height), which was (is?) literally full of H.viridiflavus. “Zornnattergarten” could be the appropriate german name for that place!
