Italian ursinii

Italian ursinii

Postby Rémon ter Harmsel » Wed Dec 30, 2015 6:19 pm

Since the weather is now sh*t and herping is minimized, I've finally found the time to sort through a bunch of pictures from 2015.

In June I spent a week in Italy to be at a friends wedding. Since the wedding happened to be in the middle of Italy, near Ancona, I decided to stay for a few days longer and give finding Vipera ursinii a try, having failed horribly in Montenegro a month earlier. Very short trip so not really worthy of a huge report, but.....

FOUND IT! And the scenery was absolutely stunning, also worth mentioning.

While cruising around a bit in the wedding area, also found Speleomantes italicus, Anguis veronensis, Hierophis carbonarius and of course the usual lizard bunch. The wedding will always be remembered as the Ursinii-wedding  Some pictures below.

Congrats! Still very high on my wish list I do envy the pictures of the Vipera!

I really dig the Speleomantes in-situ shot!

Thanks for sharing.

With all the best,

Tim

I understand, shit does happen. But everything else was terrific. I do envy you.
