Yesterday I got really dirtiy looking for Speleomantes flavus in one of the caves with alleged presence of them. I walked several hundred meters alone in a dark and I did not find them. :( Today I want to find tortoises. Should I look for them after 5 pm in maquis?

Haven't been to Sardinia, but in my (limited) experience with Speleomantes, your chances of finding them are better near the entrance or even just outside it.

because of accessibility of food? what about summer temperatures? Today I was swiming in a pond with E. orbicularis and N. maura and got so-so pics of the latter.
