Vipera aspis in Piemonte

Vipera aspis in Piemonte

Postby Tom Hoogesteger » Sat Feb 13, 2010 4:32 pm

Hello people.

I found these two beautiful asp vipers in June 2008 about 20-30 km north-west from Torino.
What do you say about the subspecies? I have found some rather confusing information about if the asps of this region should be called aspis, atra or francisciredi, and if atra is a valid subspecies at all?
