It's spring

Hello everybody Today with a 20°C and strong scirocco wind, all the lizards in my garden(Podarcis siculus) were out to bask .
For my friends in colder erpetologiacal areas that are waiting the spring:

And this shot was made on last saturday in a botanic trip in the "orto botanico di Napoli" or Napoli Botanic Garden and precisely in the ferns puddle,

It was 10°C but there were a lot of those guys (I don't know the species and I did not want disturb the little animal):

Oh yeah, nice to see a few herps.
But the snow begins to melt here in Berlin. :)

Unless it's introduced (you never know with this kind of places), that should be a female Italian Newt (Lissotriton italicus). If not, I'd guess that it's a visiting Smooth Newt (Lissotriton vulgaris) from Rome ;).

With the temperatures you're having, amphibian activity should be intense...

And here in Copenhagen it was just beginning to melt but then a couple of hours ago it started snowing ago. The weather forecast says we'll get another 30 cm over the weekend :(

The coldest temperature of this winter in Finland so far, was measured today: -39,8 °C.
Where I live, -23,9 °C right now.

It's not spring yet..
