I am very happy!

I am very happy!

Postby Francesco Tri » Mon Mar 22, 2010 8:02 pm

This spring incoming very well!

I have 100.000 wild square meters in a zone of the Natural Parc of Alta Murgia, but from 40 year I never seen a viper in my earth.

Yesterday, when I first set foot in the camp, as I bent to smell the scent of this flower, I jumped in fear because a beautiful male Vipera aspis hugy blew against me!

Very, very well, are not even able been to photograph it, but I am happy anyway!

Francesco,

do you have a (much) better picture of that Orchid?
It looks like Orchis sp., but impossible to say exactly!

My guess for the orchid would be Barlia robertiana...

Barlia has been right, unfortunately at most authors the name has changed to Himantoglossum robertianum (Taxonomy in orchids is as weird as snake taxonomy)...

It is Himantoglossum robertianum /Barlia robertiana: and you: thank you all!

I will try to photograph better in the future, hoping to find and photograph a few hugy!
