If(!) we will be able to persuade him for more European trips (with his mind filled with Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Morocco, and so much more), you should just come with us :D .

Besides that, if the price is right, I'm sure something can be arranged, Peter E.? :D

My European want-to-see/find myselflist is much shorter.

I want to find Eryx and P. collaris by my own.

And Ok maybe that Macroprotodonthing what i already found in Tunesia. You know I am to lazy to flip things.

ok, now I'm relieved - still enough plans. I thought you would have to start collecting stamps now  . I didn't have in mind the Macroprotodon... Just tell me, when you go to that mighty Greek Island with the new Podarcis species.
Back to your report, you seem be attracted by cars in muddy offroad situations - will we see a Hyla team in the next Paris-Dakar spectacle? ;)

In part due to unreliable GPS routes, but largely to be attributed to a lousy, overoptimistic driver...

As usual great report and pics. I love to see that many lineatus pics.

For Peter, in 42 Days the days going to be shorter (21.06.) in 5 month the season is almost over! So wintertime is very close!
How does this sound? Is it pessimistic?????

You're very kind, thank you. Of course we are lazy  . If you prefer to get up at 5am to arrive at ursinii habitat at the right time... Some people (including are snake catching hero Peter) don't like walking, apparently... Or at least not through snake-free terrain. Of course, a true macho snake hunter wants to have the idea (or: illusion) that he fought hard for his reward :D :D :D .

You call that frightening??? A lovely snow drive? We did walk, btw. In my own defence, I want to point out that I even wanted to hike to that spot anyway, while the euh... senior members of our group were reluctant to as little as a 600m of altitudinal difference to be covered. However, the snow thought us a lesson, so the second trial (and succesfull one) was by hiking anyway.

I think we had no real map of montenegro (or no map at all?), no gps with a map and we even didn´t tried to find a different way than walking.
for me that 1000m height difference is just the icing on the cake!
keep in mind, others do that even without the goal of finding snakes :D

You can call me very lazy. I prefer being dropped in the middle of a snake-full area. I was one of those people who wants to go by car to this snowy place in Montenegro. I am even to lazy to flip things.
