Herping in Cantabria, Spain

Postby Magnus Öhrn » Tue Mar 19, 2013 8:47 am

Hello!
I´m planning a trip to Cantabria region in Spain. My first priority is to see if I can see the three vipers in the region (V.aspis, V.seoanei and V.latasti). Of course I will try to see any species of amphibians and reptiles in the region. Do any one have some tips for a trip like this?
Many thanks!

You've probably seen these...

(Spain May 2012, Northern Spain September 2010)

I'm not going divulge spots, obviously. If you dig deep enough, you will, unfortunately, find plenty of detailed stuff online about the contact zone of aspis and latastei. Seoanei is not much of a problem (most abundant snake in the area). The weather in its range often is, though.

Hello!
Thanks for the answer. Of course we shouldn´t give away exact spots, of that I´m fully aware. I had seen the hylawerkgroupsite on the internet but not the other link. Thanks for that.
