Quite the opposite - the prevent its toes from burning.

are not these tadpoles too greenish and brownish to be Bufo spinosus instead of Bufotes viridis?

So what species they are? I thought that brownish, grey and greenish are tadpoles of Bufotes viridis only.

There's a new book that says colour is unreliable in tadpoles.
From experience, I'd say these are spinosus, but I'm not betting anything on it.

are these 2 sp.?
Bufo spinosus (dark ones for sure) and E. calamita (spotted ones, at least on legs)?
