Hi folk, (from Portugal)
First of many posts, I hope.
I'll leave you with some pictures of the species I found these last 2 days in 2 areas a few km from home (Lisbon district). Not exactly at my doorstep, but still it's more than I was expecting!
1) 18-04-2014 (night)
Alverca do Ribatejo - some ponds near the riverbank with LOTS of vegetation, making it incredibly difficult to actually see the animals. Could hear hundreds of frogs, but saw only a few. I think I could hear Hylla molleri, but saw none.
-Pelophylax perezi
-Triturus pygmaeus (A first for me!)
2) 19-04-2014 (afternoon)
Mata do Paraíso (Vialonga) - A small stream in the woods with LOTS of tadpoles. It was the first time I went there but I've been told it's a mating spot for lots of Bufo spinosus.

-Lissotriton boscai
