A few nice images. To the "wildcat".. for me it isn't bushy enough. The tail should be more bushy and I think the color doesn't fit really. I might be wrong but I think it is just a wild house cat. In this week I was in the Eifel for a advanced training and we saw a dead one, it looked different than these one. I am not an expert in this!

Wild cat only has 3-5 tail rings, I believe.

At the end of this article (in Dutch) there is an illustration which might help, wild cat usually has more tail rings:

Hi guys,
I just went to the site: http://www.vertebradosibericos.org/mami ... felsil.pdf
and read the PDF on the wild cat. They mention 3-5 rings in the tail, hanging whiskers and a somewhat skin colour in the nose. As to the fur, they are not always as fluffy as in other parts of Europe and may become less around this time of the year. They mention lots of studies in the rest of Europe and only a few in the Iberian peninsula.
They mention also a study in the south of Portugal that shows a 12% mix with house cats and one wild cat with a tail of a house cat ( DNA study ).
apparently the best way to distinguish them in on the size of the intestines...that might not always be visible on a picture.
I'll place him in my kitten file.
I'll place a few more pics tomorrow.

I agree Mario, here is one other picture of the same female ( just because of your comment). I think I saw one other brown female like this one but I have no picture of it.
