yes I know, I like to walk around naked too sometimes, even or pics and sometimes even on movies, or did you mean Siem catching his first snake before his mother could do anything about it...

"Family holidays"...I guess you have a rather wide interpretation of the concept ;). Luckily, because I love the results! The pictures of the black Vipera seoanei are great.
Say hi to Siem, the rising star of naked herping.
Cheers,
Laura

Nice report, good results, GJ :)

I'm a little bit awed by your driving effort - currently trying to convince my wife a little 5 day / 2300 km trip is feasible with two kids in the back...

What a fantastic trip you had.
I know the lake and the camping up from Manteigas. The last 7 years I went there with my wife and kids.
This year we did not! At least your kids took over the task of caching the n.maura instead of my kids.
I gather from you report you did not see any p. carbenell close to the lake but you can find then in some most humid areas with vegetation. They live next to the iberian wall lizard but are only found in more sandy areas specially to the south and SE areas of the lake even next to the shore.
The viper though is gret, I never menaged to find one up there. Maybe next year.

Paul, thanks dear, yes you should do that and I defenatly look forward to the next adventure with my tea drinking and ba..... buddies from outside Europe! TBTNA

Jürgen, Thanks, I know you are my friend, but maybe you would like to be family also, herping every day in this family :D

Laura, you know I cant let the future generation down, Im blessed they (still) share my passion!

Kristian, Thanks, but really, are you crazy, 2300 in 5 days, divorce is close then I'm afraid, we had 25 days and I know we did too much driving.

Miguel, loved that campsite and I did look for carbo's there but did not find them, but the viper made up for that, thanks!

Andre, thanks, I hoped to find even more of them, but high temperatures in the Picos and Penede Geres did not make it easier.
