Searching for Chioglossa lusitanica (Bussaco, Portugal)

Postby Ana Goncalves » Sat Nov 15, 2014 2:30 am

Hello!

Last wednesday I made a small fieldtrip in the Bussaco forest to show the Chioglossa lusitanica to some friends of mine who never saw it before.
It was a true sucess, we saw dozens of specimens and also various (and very beautiful) Salamandra salamandra, Bufos spinosus and Triturus marmoratus.
Here's some of the pictures. I hope you like it :-)

Chio is the best! That second one is weird-looking. No Salamandra pictures? ;)

That second one is indeed a strange one! Don't hesitate to post more pictures of Portugese amphibian activity ;)

One of my favourite amphibians! Spectacular salamanders.

I would as well like to see the other pictures (if there are any!). The second one looks weird indeed.

With kind regards and thanks for posting,

Tim

I love how Salamandra salamandra can be so variable :)
