 ok ok! I didn't understand you at the beginning. Well, if it would be a refugee probably it would prefer the warm Marbella than the cold Asturias

Yes, some friends found a viper like that in the mountains. Probably all bilineata forms are mixed between Llanes and Covadonga. All of them are amazing

all lizards and amphibians are snake food

Well, aren't they? That's a fact. One should insert a "just"
in front of "snake food" to make it something emotional.

Simply an amazing snake and great finds/photography altogether, make sure to post another tripreport if you manage to go out for an amphibian trip ;)

True that! Nobody will arrest you there for taking a few pictures of snakes

Yes Berislav! I forgot the "just". But I think that all of us understand it ;)

Thanks Jurgen!

Ok Bobby. Seeing that Paul and many people in the forum love Pelobates, if I make an amphibian expedition I will make a post with all the amphibians found. My best night in Spain was 2 years ago close to the typical viper place in Burgos. Balls of dozens of spinosus, many amplexus of calamita and also amplexus of Pelobates, Pelodytes calling, marmoratus laying eggs... what a special night! I will make a post of that night in winter, when the forum will be off :)

I know, I know, I just wanted to spice it up a little bit... to point out the difference between a rather "flat",
matter-of-fact statement, and a much more "provocative" one, that's all. Has nothing to do with "correcting"
anyone's "bad English" (of which I've already been "accused" several times in this forum...) The difference is
clearly felt as rather significant/meaningful in any language on Earth - just consult your own mother tongue.

BTW, do you know what's used as snakefood for really big snakes (pythons, anacondas and alike) in ZOOs?
Cute little dogs, they tell me. Poodles, and alike... Sorry for the dog lovers, but all snakes are carnivores,
that's a fact of life, and they have to feed on something - well, substantial, and easily available as well...
In most of our "civilized" realms, juvenile peccaries or antelopes or anything like that are not a realistic
option, so...
