Amphibian trip in late november?

Postby Magnus Öhrn » Mon Oct 12, 2015 6:45 pm

Hello! I wonder if anyone of you could give me some information about a late fieldtrip to Spain or Portugal in late november ( 30 november to 6 december ). Is it a good or bad time of year to search for some amphibians? I Know that i I can't expect precise locations, naturally ,but a suitable region with many different species would be nice. Best regards

I can only but agree with Jeroen and it looks promissing.
It has been raining since the begining of November in Portugal. I'm not sure about the South of Spain but there is rain predicted even this weekend. The area of Doñana is quite sandy therefore it may take some more time to fill up with water.
If you fly to Faro you can try to go East or West or both. within 1 1/2h drive both ways you find good Amphibian areas.

You can also go to Corsica, exept Archaeolacerta bedriagae you should be able to see all the corsican species.
