Last summer I spend some time in Spain to see some variation in Vipera seoanei.

Incredibly beautiful vipers! Congratulations and many thanks for the inspiring an funny trip report. You obviously have some sort of magic eyesight. Spent a couple of days where the three viper species overlap two years ago and found nothing but one drab brown seoanei...

I have been in Spain two times (with that Belgian guy Bert ;) ) and we never had the luck of finding latastei... Guess we will have to follow your footsteps! Great report and what a beautiful light colored latastei hybrid you found

Sounds like a great vacation. Wonderful critters, excellent pics.

Never having seen seoanei (only ever spent 1 hour in 36 degree heat within habitat...) I've mostly thought of them as essentially just berus with a little extra nice pattern variation. You opened my eyes that I might be underestimating them and whet my appetite for a trip.

Oh, and that light coloured hybrid is astonishing. A shame that it wasn't in better condition.

Never seen so many vipers: not even if I count all the pictures I've seen in my life... (typical paradox!). Fully impressed and a little jealous!

Same here - what else should/could I (or anyone else in his right mind) say... Well, as for me, fully impressed,
and VERY MUCH jealous...
