Another interesting place that we visited on our tour around Armenia was the rocky area to the west of the VAYOTS 'DZOR province. During a brief stop near the border with the Azerbaijan’s enclave Nakhchivan, we found Zamenis hohenackeri, Lacerta media and Laudacia caucasia species. In a rocky gorge of the Darichay river near the Noravank monastery, we founf Hemorrhois ravergieri, Elaphe sauromates, Eryx jaculus and some more Laudacia caucasia.

As we proceeded into the mountain areas in the inner part of the VAYOTS 'DZOR Syunik'province, the weather deteriorated again and due to the very frequent rain, daytime temperatures reached 15 ° C and then fell to 0 ° C at night.

On the way to the south, we made a short herpetological stop in a woodland area near the border with Azerbaijan, about 30 kilometers south of the town of Goris, where we were met by the occurrence of the Macrovipera lebetina obtusa, Natrix natrix, Coronella austriaca, , Laudacia caucasia, Lacerta media and Darevskia sp.
