Postby Edvard Mizsei » Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:30 pm

Dear All,

We are planning a trip to go there on the next summer. I'm looking for informations about reptiles from this region. If anibody know some interesting place, pleas write me! I don't want correct coordinates...only place name, maybe how to get there or where to stop. :) We're interested about all other informations, including info about the countries and borders!

Hi,

I see that you want to cross from Romania into Ukraine via Moldavia.
Moldavia is quite ok now that the communists no longer have the power , but the silly, so called country of Transnistria could be tricky. Expect delays and be prepared to give bribes in order to pass through.

I can tell you what to expect in those parts of Romania and Moldavia that you will cross, but i guess that you care about the most eastern countries.

Cheers!

Hi Edvard,
Although I think's that's an extremely attractive route (for herping) + regardless of bribes, safety, etc. , don't you think that with an average of over 400km/day on not all-that-great roads, you will have too little time to herp and enjoy?
In any case, it might deliver a crazy trip report, so I'm very curious to see how it works out!
Little or no knowledge of these areas, so I'm afraid I cannot be of much help.
You will have seen these, I guess

If we can't entry to Azerbaijan after Armenia. In the border crossing points there are some technical difficulty, hard to entry... More problems raised about Abhazian Autonomy. :x

In this time I try to get diplomatic passports, maybe with this we have the solution.

Hi, Edvard, i think, i know a bit about it. you can not depart in Abkhazia from Georgia.and you can not depart in Georgia with abkhazian seal in papers.georgians will arrest you for a illegal trespass.so it was before war and i think that now it also so.in Armenia you can depart only from Georgia.say me when you ride and can be i will say what reptiles/amphibians youwill see..
