Here's a website I recently made containing some of the artwork from our book. The website is work in progress so I'll keep on updating it with other stuff.

I'd be very greatful if you spread the word to friends, collegues or whoever you think might be interested and post a link here and there ;)

Many thanks,

Words fail me.

Forwarded immediately to the forum of the Croatian Herpetological Society "Hyla".
Also informed our friends in Serbia, so it's now up to them to spread it further there.

Thanks for the beauty.

Fantastic work indeed . Ilian, are you also going to sell some of your original drawings? I would love to see a serie of pictures showing step-by-step how you complete one drawing.

Thank you all very much for the kind words!

Berislav, many thanks for forwarding this! I'm glad you enjoyed my work.

I'm working digitally with a Wacom pen and tablet, so there's no "original" in the sense that there's no physical drawings on paper but I can provide prints.

Unfortunatelly, I didn't save any work in progress so I can't show this now. Maybe I can do this in the future when I do other drawings.

There was also a question (from a member of CHS "Hyla") regarding how much time it takes
(for you) to produce a picture like that.

Ilian, the whole world enjoyes your work. You needn't be so modest. I just wonder how it feels being the
best of all, on the top... that's something like winning a gold medal in Olympic games... or a Nobel prize
in science. Hope you'll manage to cope with that. I'm sure you will - relax, enjoy your deserved glory, and
produce more of that fascinating stuff.

A few technical questions:
The copyright still belongs to you, or to the publisher of the book?
If I somehow (how?) manage to print some of your pictures, for my own pleasure & my friends',
what would it imply legally?

Outstanding, of course! ;)

(I'd gave to say that some look (in comparison with how they look on our book) as if they were 'sharpened' a bit too much on my screens, and as such a bit 'sterile'. But that's probably a matter of taste.)

Of course, I have has always been a huge fan. Without Ilian's art, there would have been no book. Let's hope it serves as a start for more exposure and more similar jobs for him. I'll always brag about being there when it all started.

Now, let's be fair, without YOU (and the others) there would also have been no book like this one.
The point is, we are all prone to admire the next-to-perfect Ilian's illustrations, but the text is no
less next-to-perfect. Congrats to ALL the authors, from all my heart. Be proud, and survive it.
