Hi all,

In a near futur I'd like to buy a new camera that enables to take good close-up pictures, in particular. My budget is fluctuating between 200-300E and I'm looking for something quite easy to use.Among the cameras which are available on the market, what would be your advise for my quest?

Thank you!

Guillaume

Hi Guillaume,
as a DSLR-ignorant I use Panasonic FZ38 & FZ45. The lens is fantastic for that camera class. In combination with adapter and Minolta No 0 & No 1 achromat (ebay) you will get good results.

Regards
Peter

Canon SX200 and SX 210, both have 1cm focus distance.

From my experience one of the best budget all-round cameras on the market.

I suggest you to spend a bit more (400-450€) and get a DSLR.
The Canon EOS 1000D+ EF-S 18-55mm Lens kit is a good choice....cca 430€.
After that you can get macro rings to use in combination with the 18-55 lens...
Macro rings are cheaper than macro lenses and you have also good results.

Currently I use a Fuji HS10 - You can buy these new from around £250. Focussing distance is 1cm, zoom is 30X (24-720mm) so you may also use it for e.g. nervous lizard or bird photography, and it shoots at 10fps. All round seems a great camera!
