For sure, I know this paper on the "horned devil".

As far as I know, Somebody have allegedly found two further specimens north of Karthoum, Sudan.
So the species might be widespread or these morph is just a "mood of nature".
Also you have to keep in mind, "Arabians" are perfect preparators ;)
