Today I was very pleased to receive my copy of the Salamanders of the Old world, by Max Sparreboom.
A hard back weighty tomb of some 430 pages, printed on good quality paper. All species currently recognised in the geographical area are represented, with some great photographs of both the animals, some of which are rarely photographed, and habitat. As well as the usual European suspects, the Asian species are well documented, with the latest species of Tylototriton etc present. . If you like manders, this should definitely be on your Christmas list.. if your not that into them, the price may put you off, its around 135 euros. You get what you pay for in life, coffee, hookers, drugs, suits... the more you spend, generally the better they are
For mander lovers this book is pure porn, for the rest of you.. interesting but hard to justify the price..
Cheers Paul
