Has there been increased monitoring of alpine newts in Bunderbos? I was there last year and the puddles next to the train tracks were full of alpestris. Nothing more than a poor anecdote, of course, but I would expect to see also very small numbers if the fungus was so lethal to this species as well. In other words, if the alpestris (at that time, anyway) were also heavily affected, I'd like to see how full those puddles would've been without the disease!
