I know it is rather late to point this out now and you are probably aware of it already but Cyren's,Galan's and Pena de Francia are listed as Wall lizards in the illustration.

Better spotted too often than unseen, so thanks!

Hi Jeroen,

Any chance it is possible to acquire a signed copy?

Cheers, Kris

Well... I hope you'll forgive me not signing and sending these off personally. I'm afraid the best I can offer is hunting me down. ;)
So, if you're ever in Belgium...

Well, it's not always easy having become a celebrity... But you tough it out, obviously. Keep on like that.

(Once I "hunted down" Andréas Meyer, the first author of "Auf Schlangenspuren usw." to sign me my copy
of his book, but it was easy - I waited in ambush, in my hometown Zagreb, till the Swiss team came for
a visit, eager to find Vipera berus bosniensis... Of course I was a good host and guide, but also did not
forget to take the book with me to the field... So, that's an easy option I would recommend to anybody...
Only requires some patience and good luck.)

In my defence, I'm making it even easier if you like salamanders, as I'll do the guiding (estimating that we're not talking hordes). Other option was the SEH meeting in Salzburg and maybe, just maybe, Vienna ÖGH January.

Well, the Swiss team was no "horde", for sure... And they had had a hearty recommendation from Herbert Billing,
whom I deeply respect as a friend, teacher, guru... As I said to Andréas, "For me, the word of Herbi is the word of
God... so I simply have no choice but to be the best host I can..."

Maybe this rather emotional statement of mine could also be instructive to various newcomers to this forum,
who readilly ask about best localities to find this or that... without introducing themselves properly and/or
quoting a reliable authority who could guarantee they deserve it.
In this particular case, I knew very well who Andréas Meyer is and what he does, and I would have most gladly
helped him out anyway, but Herbi’s warm recommendation just added the “final touch”... the irresistible one.
That's how it goes, in practical life. We're a small community, after all.
