Lizard ID Andalusia

Postby Julius Zidorn » Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:15 pm

Hi,

here´s an picture of a lizard we found in Andalusia in 2011. I would say Psammodromus hispanicus, but this species splitted into three and I do not know if it´s P. edwardsianus or P. occidentalis.
We found it at the lake edge of Embalse de Casasola near Almogía, Andalusia.
Would be nice if anyone could help me!
Best regards,
Julius

Most likely edwarsianus (note unfortunate but correct spelling without 2nd 'd'...), but no one knows for sure. You could run through the morphological stuff in the paper, to find some clues, perhaps.

Maybe this helps:

We found these Psammodroms a bit more east in the Parque Natural Montes de Málaga.
But not really good pictures...
